I have completely lost confidence in Ira Toyota of Manchester after my most recent service experience.
I brought my 2021 Toyota RAV4 in for service and was initially told that the oil pan drain plug threads were cross threaded and stripped and that the oil pan needed to be replaced. This immediately concerned me because my oil changes have been performed through Toyota, including an oil change at this dealership only approximately two months ago.
When I questioned how the threads could be cross threaded when Toyota technicians have been servicing the vehicle, the explanation suddenly changed. After I pushed back and management became involved, I was then told the threads were simply worn down and that this was normal wear and tear.
That change in explanation is extremely troubling to me. If the threads were simply worn from normal use, why was I initially told they were cross threaded and stripped? And if they were already severely worn, why was nothing mentioned during my oil change here approximately two months ago? I came looking for a reasonable explanation and assistance, not a diagnosis that seemed to change after I questioned whether the dealership could bear responsibility.
Unfortunately, my interaction with management made the situation considerably worse. When I went in hoping to have a professional conversation about my concerns, the manager began by asking whether I was going to watch the Patriots game. When I tried to discuss the actual issue and challenged the explanation I was receiving, I felt dismissed rather than heard. I was essentially told that I was wrong, that he knew what he was talking about, not to tell him what to say or do, and most disappointing of all, that the dealership would make money with or without my business.
Regardless of who ultimately bears responsibility for the oil pan threads, that is an unacceptable way to speak to a customer who is simply asking legitimate questions about a potentially expensive repair.
I was not asking anyone to blindly accept responsibility. I was asking them to explain why the original diagnosis was cross threading and stripped threads, why that explanation subsequently became normal wear and tear, and why this supposedly significant wear was not identified when the dealership serviced the same drain plug approximately two months earlier.
I chose Toyota dealership service because I believed it offered a higher level of expertise, accountability, and confidence in the work being performed. After this experience, I no longer have that confidence.
I sincerely hope the owner or general manager of Ira Toyota of Manchester contacts me directly and reviews both the technician's original findings and my vehicle's service history. I would genuinely like an explanation of what happened and an opportunity for someone at this dealership to restore the trust that was lost today.

It was easy to schedule an appointment for the 10000-mile service on my 2025 Sienna. The vehicle was received at the scheduled time (no wait), and I was on my way home in 50 minutes. The service advisor was friendly and professional. I really appreciated the emailed video of the mechanic's inspection of the tires and brakes as part of Toyota's safety check. I have purchased 3 vehicles from IRA/Manchester since 2005, and had gotten regular service there. In all of those years, I have only had one unpleasant experience (with a sales manager in 2025).

He told me the oil wasn't due, but that a transmission fluid exchange and rear differential service were both due at 60,000 miles and had to be done together. He showed me one price on his screen before any work began: $229. I agreed and waited 2.5 hours. The register said $404.83. When I asked why, his answer was that's the price of the services.
At home I read Toyota's official maintenance guide. At 60,000 miles both fluids are INSPECT only. Replacement is for vehicles that tow or haul heavy loads. I told him twice I barely drive. The service department later emailed me Toyota's schedule themselves, apparently without reading it, because it shows exactly what I'm saying.
The paperwork: my authorization is timestamped 7 seconds after the repair order opened, before anyone looked at the car, presented to me as a check in signature. It says customer states replace rear differential oil. I never asked for that. It says drop off. I waited on site 2.5 hours. Every wrong entry sold more work.
At pickup he didn't know where my car was and handed me keys to the WRONG vehicle. I requested a refund in writing the same day. Management defended the charges twice, then went silent. My card issuer has it now.
Over eight years I sent more than ten family members and friends here to buy and service their Toyotas. I'm telling every one of them what happened. Check your maintenance guide before you sign anything at this desk. Inspect and replace are different words. The difference cost me $330 and cost them every customer I ever brought.
Everyone was great to work with. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Answered all questions and were not pushy.

Got an oil change and tire rotation, I received a call after an hour or so telling me they recommended replacing my cabin air filter after looking at it which I declined. They ended up taking all of my belongings out of the glovebox and the air filter and just leaving it all out on the seat (the air filter was dirty and made a mess in my vehicle). Small details matter, especially when making a mess in someone else’s vehicle and not cleaning up afterwards.

It was a 5 start experience until I sat down with Robert the finance manager. Miserable experience. He was rude, condescending, and dishonest. Caught him flat out lying to me and would have cost me money if I didn't insist on seeing his numbers. Robert chose profit over future business. If you shop here, do not do business with Robert. You deserve better.
I prepaid for the service plan and I was disappointed that they didn’t wash or vaccuum my car.
