Crawl Control

When the trail gets challenging, Tacoma TRD Off-Road’s Crawl Control (CRAWL)4 is here to help you conquer your off-road adventure. This advanced system automatically modulates the throttle and brakes on five low-speed settings so you can keep your focus on navigating across difficult terrain.

4 Crawl Control is designed for driving on difficult terrain at low speeds. It assists the driver by controlling acceleration and braking, allowing the driver to focus on steering. The Toyota Tacoma is designed to meet off-road driving requirements, but off-roading is inherently dangerous. Always wear seatbelts. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.

Electronically Locking Rear Differential

Don’t let a patch of knee-deep sand give you the slip. Tacoma TRD Off-Road’s standard electronically controlled locking rear differential distributes engine power evenly to both rear wheels so they move at the same speed, providing more grip in low-traction conditions.

Multi-Terrain Select

Tacoma TRD Off-Road features Multi-terrain Select. With five modes to choose from, this system helps regulate wheelspin by automatically adjusting the engine throttle and traction control. When combined with standard Goodyear Wrangler® tires with tough Kevlar® construction, Multi-terrain Select helps improve traction dramatically, meaning you can get back to the fun more quickly.

Hill Start Assist Control

Tacoma’s Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)5 helps you safely get up those hills. This technology helps minimize Tacoma from rolling backward when you move your foot from the brake to the gas pedal, so you can move upward with confidence. (HAC not available on TRD Off-Road 4WD M/T.)

5 Hill Start Assist Control is designed to help minimize backward rolling on steep ascents. It is not a substitute for safe driving judgment and practices. Factors including speed, grade, surface conditions and driver input can all affect whether HAC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.

Bilstein® Shocks

Available Bilstein®6 shocks know how to keep their cool under pressure, delivering consistent performance when the going gets rough. Standard on TRD Off-Road, these shocks help soak up the impacts of the trail, thanks to high-performance components and valving tuned specifically for off-road7 driving.

6 Bilstein® is a registered trademark of ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH FED REP GERMANY.
7 The Toyota model or models shown are designed to meet most off-road driving requirements, but off-roading is inherently dangerous and may result in vehicle damage. Toyota encourages responsible operation to help protect you, your vehicle and the environment. Seatbelts should be worn at all times. Do not allow passengers to ride in cargo area.

3.5-liter V6 Direct-Injection Engine

High tech meets high performance. Tacoma’s available Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V6 with direct injection is the perfect blend of efficiency and power, giving you more of everything you want.

High-Strength Steel

High-strength steel is used in the construction of every 2019 Tacoma, helping ensure it delivers the toughness you expect. Stronger and lighter than conventional steel, this hot-stamped, high-strength alloy helps optimize safety and performance.

Towing and Payload

Dirt bikes. Side-by-sides. Whatever toys you’ve got, Tacoma’s got the power to bring ’em along. The powerful 3.5-liter V6 and available Tow Package help this truck tow up to 6800 lbs.8 or carry a payload of up to 1440 lbs.9 So strap it down, hitch it up, and roll out -- your ultimate weekend starts here.

8 Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle's exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo.
9 “Payload capacity” is the calculation of GVWR minus curb weight and should be used for comparison purposes only. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can haul (payload) depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle's exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo.

Trailer-Sway Control

When you’re towing, sometimes the wind kicks up or a load shifts, causing the trailer to sway. Included with Tacoma’s available Tow Package,10 Trailer-Sway Control (TSC)11 applies brake pressure at individual wheels and manages engine torque to help maintain control of the trailer.

Wirelessly stream your favorite playlist13 and crank it up through the available JBL14 amplifier and premium speakers. And when it’s time to get back to the city, available Integrated Navigation15 is ready to help show you the way home.

15 Be sure to obey traffic regulations and maintain awareness of road and traffic conditions at all times. Availability and accuracy of the information provided by the navigation system is dependent upon many factors. Use common sense when relying on information provided. Services and programming subject to change. Services not available in every city or roadway. Updates may be available from your dealer at an additional cost. See Owner’s Manual for details.

Multi-Information Display

The available 4.2 in. color Multi-Information Display (MID) can be customized to show info, such as your Toyota Safety Sense™ (TSS-P)16 features, current mpg, inclinometer, and available Multi-terrain Select settings.

16 Do not rely exclusively on the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system. Always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm rear clearance. There are limitations to the function, detection and range of the system. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.

Dual Zone Climate Control

Summer heat. Winter chill. Bring it on. Tacoma offers available front dual zone automatic climate control. Now you and your passenger can stay comfortable no matter what Mother Nature throws at you.

Qi-Compatible Wireless Charging

Considering all the gear you’re loading into your Tacoma, the last thing you need to worry about is finding a cable to charge your smartphone. Good thing Tacoma is available with Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging17. Just place your Qi-compatible device on top of the nonslip surface to help keep it charged up and ready to go.

17 Qi wireless charging may not be compatible with all mobile phones, MP3/WMA players and like models. When using the wireless charging system, avoid placing metal objects between the wireless charger and the mobile device when charging is active. Doing so may cause metal objects to become hot and could cause burns.

Integrated Backup Camera with Rear Parking Sonar

When backing up on a trail -- or just backing out of your driveway -- you need to see what’s behind you. The standard backup camera18 mounted in Tacoma’s tailgate handle helps you see an image of what the camera detects behind you on the available 7-in. High-resolution display19.

18 The backup camera does not provide a comprehensive view of the rear area of the vehicle. You should also look around outside your vehicle and use your mirrors to confirm rearward clearance. Environmental conditions may limit effectiveness and view may become obscured. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.
19 Rear parking assist sonar is designed to warn drivers of potential rear collisions at speeds of 6 mph or less. Certain vehicle and environmental factors, including an object's shape and composition, may affect the ability of the rear parking assist sonar to detect it. Always look around outside the vehicle and use mirrors to confirm clearance. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.

Star Safety System

Every Tacoma comes standard with our Star Safety System20, an advanced integration of safety technologies including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)21, Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA)22 and Smart Stop Technology® (SST)23.

20 Star Safety System is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving practices.
21 Vehicle Stability Control is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions, weather and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.
22 Smart Stop Technology® operates only in the event of certain contemporaneous brake and accelerator pedal applications. When engaged, the system will reduce power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver input can all impact stopping distance. Smart Stop Technology® is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping. See Owner’s Manual for details.
23 Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper vehicle maintenance, and tire and road conditions. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.

Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

When Tacoma’s available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)24 detects a vehicle, it illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate outside mirror to alert you to presence of the vehicle, helping you to determine when it’s safe to change lanes. And when you slowly back out of a driveway or parking spot, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)25 provides an audible indicator to warn you of approaching vehicles.

24 Do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor. Always look over your shoulder and use your turn signal. There are limitations to the function, detection and range of the monitor. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.
25 Do not rely exclusively on the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system. Always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm rear clearance. There are limitations to the function, detection and range of the system. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.

ToyotaCare

Toyota is devoted to safety and dependability, and proper vehicle maintenance is important to both. That’s why we include a no cost maintenance plan26 with the purchase or lease of every new Tacoma for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. 24-hour roadside assistance is also included for 2 years and unlimited miles.27

26 Covers normal factory scheduled service for 2 years or 25K miles, whichever comes first. See Toyota dealer for details and exclusions. Valid only in the continental U.S. and Alaska.
27 Roadside Assistance coverage is 2 years unlimited mileage. Does not include parts and fluids, except emergency fuel delivery. See Toyota Dealer for details and exclusions. Valid only in the continental U.S. and Alaska.

TPMS

Our advanced Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)28 comes standard on every Tacoma. Designed to monitor tire pressure at all times, it alerts the driver when a tire or tires become underinflated. TRD and Limited grades feature an individual tire location report via the 4.2-in. MID. It’s one more way Tacoma gives you peace of mind wherever the rubber meets the road.

28 The Toyota Tire Pressure Monitor alerts the driver when tire pressure is critically low. For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge; do not rely solely on the monitor system. See Owner’s Manual for details.
